Classic Mini Diff Bearing Crown Wheel Bearing Machining (November 2020)

Need to rebuild and install new bearings in to my classic mini cross pin diff and crown wheel.

I had an old lathe back plate doing nothing so time to modify it so I can machine these easily. The same back plate is used for the diff cage, crown wheel and also the diff side covers.

By using a face plate is I should be able to put it up and locate future diffs etc. without much effort or alignment.

Face plate machined to take diff cage with 3 threaded studs.

Boring out the bearing.

A location ring which converts the face plate to locate the crown wheel.
