Cue Joint (Aug 2021)

A friend asked if I would convert their one pieces Bar Billiards cue into a two piece for easier transport when traveling abroad.

It’s always a little nerve racking cutting someone’s pride an joy in half.

No going back now. Boring out and threading ready for joint

A rough sketch of the custom brass joint.

All the joints in my cues, and ones I convert, are made by myself to my own designs. They are threaded into the shafts unlike many others that are just a push fit and more likely to come lose.

The downside of threading directly into the shaft is that it takes a little more time making sure the grain lines up when the two halves are screwed together.
