Bar Billiards Table Cushion Rubber (2025)
It's not been possible to buy 1/2" cushion rubber in long lengths for some time.
The means you either have to buy shorter lengths and splice them together or buy the larger 5/8" or 7/8" profile used on pool or snooker table. These comes in longer lengths.
Both the larger profiles have their own issues when used on a bar billiards table.
The 5/8" rubber is of a much springier/softer compound. It still needs splicing to get the right length but the joint is in a slightly better place than 1/2" rubber. Personally I find the rubber is too bouncy and the ball comes off the back cushion too fast. You see more pegs taken out by a ball coming off the bottom cushion or balls back over the baulk line on tables using 5/8" rubber.
Personally I've not used 7/8" rubber as it requires the wooden rails to be much thinner so that the screws used to secure them to the table go right through them into the rubber.
I soon hope to be able to offer 1/2" cushion rubber in 2m lengths. 1 table would require 2.5 lengths.
