AAE Micro Clicker Mounting For Hoyt Xceed (2022)

I wanted to fit a micro adjust clicker to my Hoyt Xceed riser but after looking at the mounting point for the clickers plate I decided it would be less than ideal using the position of sight block screws.

The issue with the Xceed riser is that the sight mounting holes are to the rear of the riser so the slots for the mounting plate only just reach. This also makes the end of the micro adjusting screw very close to the riser, and although there is clearance I just didn't like how close it would be.

The other issue is with the Shibuya sight block; which is quite thick compared to some others like the Axcel sights, is the sight bar is further away from the riser, and adding the micro clicker mounting plate behind it would moves it out another 3mm.

This means the sight pin would need to move 3mm further out making the amount protruding even worse. Having had a sight pin break mid competition I'm now very conscious that the more the sight pin hangs out he greater the risk of it breaking. You can also run out of thread length for windage adjustment.

All this led me to make a mounting block so the clicker is more ideally located.

Low profile so not to get in the way. In the right photo you can see that the Shibuya sight bock is quite thick at the mounting section. Fixing the AAE mounting plate behind would move the sight pin another 3mm out. I think other sights such as the Axcel have a thinner mounting block section.

The holes were sized with a drill bit and tapped with M5 threads. The hole in the bottom left corner isn't used unless you want to drill an extra hole in the AAE clicker plate. I left it there just incase.

Various versions made during prototyping and the before and after finishing.

Mounting block located on the AAE plate. Again not only opne screw used on the bottom but the provision is there in case a scond is needed. But this would require the plate to be drilled.
